3D printing polyurethane acrylate(PUA) based elastomer and its mechanical behavior

Abstract Liquid-crystal display(LCD) 3D printing, also known as light during printing or photopolymer is a type of additive manufacturing technology that uses light-sensitive resin to create three-dimensional objects. This has gained popularity in recent years owing its ability high-resolution, detailed objects with wide range materials, including shape-memory polymers, toughness resins, and elastomers. Elastomers are polymer material the stretch deform under an applied force, but return their original shape when force removed. The superior deformation recovery rate contributes elastomer use various industries, automotive, aerospace, medical, consumer goods. In this study, UV-curable polyurethane acrylate(PUA) elongation 100%–200% was developed. Using LCD we were able fabricate Triply periodic minimal surface(TPMS) lattice structures investigated compressive behavior TPMS different ratios 20%–50%. Our results demonstrate approach enables creation flexible energy-absorbing cyclic loading. study highlights potential for production elastomeric materials tunable mechanical properties.
